Life is like a play and the world is the stage. The different scenes are the stages people pass through in life. The scenes put together begin to tell a story about our lives. And so every person has a story to tell. Other people have great stories to tell about their lives. Others have very sad stories to tell about themselves. Others began life well while others began it with a sad note. It does not matter where your life is now. What matters is where you have placed it, because this will determine what will happen next in your life and how your story may end in life.
Jesus said in John 10:10 that the thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy. But He has come that men may have life and have it in its fullness. This statement of Jesus means that without Christ Jesus in your life, your life can not be complete. The thief Satan through sin got a head way into every human life, causing their story in life to be short of what God had planned. But Christ has come to spoil what the devil had done against you (1 John 3:8), so that you can have a full life.
God the Father knowing that because of sin every man’s life would end in destruction sent his son into the world to save them. He does that by dealing with their sins and relating with them through his Holy Spirit when they accept Him as their Lord and Savior. You could be a drug addict feeling hopeless about your situation desiring to be free yet unable to stop the drugs or it could be drunkardness or lust that you can not quench or the filth of pornography that has held you like a vice yet your desire is to be free. You could be in the prison of hatred, anger, selfishness, greed etc. I want to tell you that only God through Christ can change your story.
Jesus came so that your story can change. When he met Mathew the tax collector, his story changed and he became a disciple. When He met Peter and his fellow fishermen, their stories changed, and they went far beyond what fishing would have done for them. When Jesus met Zacchaeus, the chief revenue collector of Jericho city, corruption ended, and the story of his life changed, (Luke 19:1-10). When Jesus visited Lazarus’ grave four days after his death, the story of Lazarus changed. He came out of the grave.
I could go on and on and tell you about the blind man who met Jesus and his eyes were opened and the paralytic who had suffered for 38 years whom Jesus healed at the pool and the story of Joseph who was sold by his brothers into slavery, but whose story God eventually changed and enabled him become the prime minister of Egypt (Genesis from chapter 37 to 46). And Hannah whose story of barrenness got changed which enabled her to bear children.
I don’t know what the story of your life is. I don’t know what kind of prison you are in or what kind of trouble you are going through at this stage of life. When you allow Jesus to show up on any stage of your life, your story will change. All people need change for the Bible says in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned and have fallen short of God’s glory, but all who will accept the payment that God made through his son Jesus Christ on the cross shall be put right. When God puts you right, you experience a fundamental change that will change every other thing and every other area of your life that needs change.
If you have not yet given your life to Christ as your Lord and Savior, why not allow Him into your life. He will surely change your life and destiny. If you are ready to do that please say this simple prayer of commitment to Jesus Christ! The only one who is the way to God the Father:
“Dear Jesus, I come to you as a sinner. I repent of my sins. Right now, I ask you to come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Change my life. Amen.”
If you said that prayer from your heart, you are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Find a Bible based church near you where you can fellowship in order to grow spiritually. Read the Bible beginning from the gospel of John. Let us know about your commitment to Christ through our contacts.
May God bless you
