On the 4th of September 2011, VCCM celebrated 10 years of active ministry at Lugogo show ground. This was a glorious celebration. About 1500 church members, partners and guests attended this function. It was a time of testimonies, reflection of the past, and Inspiration about the future.  The Echoes of Victory, The Women Choir, Word In Action, Sunday School, and Kapchorwa VCCM Children Choir were the different VCCM choirs that graced the occasion.  Rev. Garry Everett was the Guest Speaker. Speaking on the subject of “Making Disciples”, Rev Garry Everett challenged the church to make disciples as the best means of changing a nation and giving it foundational values.

Dr. Nsababuturo, former Minister for Ethics and Integrity in his remark to the audience asked the audience to support the work that VCCM is doing for the Lord in the nation. Meanwhile Hon. Cecilia Ogwal M.P called for the leadership of VCCM to remain humble in order for the Lord to use them even much more. Meanwhile prayers offered for the nation was led by Hon.Brig Charles Angina M.P. The celebration which began at 10am ended with a fellowship dinner at 5 p.m. The spirit of excellence that was exhibited during this celebration was a clear testimony that God’s hand was upon it. We give God all the Glory.

FINDING PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE.

Finding purpose for your life begins with seeing. Jeremiah 1: 4-12 can help us understand this:

“Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.”(AV)

God had a purpose for Jeremiah. That purpose was hidden inside Jeremiah’s life. And until he himself could see it, there was little progress that he could make in fulfilling his life’s assignment. The first thing Jeremiah did was to disqualify himself the moment he heard God say that He had appointed him to be a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah understood the challenges of being God’s spokesman, especially an international one. He had his own fears. Things changed after God gave Jeremiah his word. When Jeremiah began to see things the correct way, then God was ready to work with him to make his word come true. And that is precisely why we have an account of Jeremiah from whose experience we can learn a lot.

What transpired between God and Jeremiah clearly teaches us that God is a God of purpose. He works with and through the very people he has created. Every human being has a God - ordained purpose. The problem is that many times people are not able to see what God has deposited inside them as a seed or talent which they could bring out and exercise in order to meet needs and add value to society. At times they are not able to see because of fear of people, failure etc... Others are not able to see because they are ignorant of what God says about people in general and what he says about those who have believed in him.

When we decide to live by God’s word, we don’t have to live in fear because he will be close to us and his presence becomes a sure protection. And through his promises (Word) we can begin to see what we are capable of doing (Phil 4:13; “I can do everything through him who gives me strength”). Whatever God has put in us is able to root out, pull down destroy, throw down all that which afflicts man and is contrary to God’s will for man. Through his word, God is able to enable us build and plant what will bless humanity.

What is that dream or desire that has persisted for a long time in your mind even when it seems difficult or impossible to achieve? What is that, which you could have attempted to do if you knew it was impossible for you to fail? That is your purpose or assignment. Begin to focus on it. That is a seed in a picture form that God has planted in your heart and mind. Remember, it is the invisible ideas that when pursued and implemented which brings forth visible blessings. God has placed within the reach of everyone what he can start with in order to fulfill his purpose. Moses had what he thought was only “a stick” (Ex. 4: 2-3) and the widow whose sons were to be sold off to pay her late husband’s debt thought she had just a “little jar of oil”. In both cases, what seemed to be ordinary turned out to be a great means of deliverance. What about you? What do you have?  You better find out and go after it. God bless you.

The future of Africa is bright because the time for the fulfillment of many prophecies that have been spoken about Africa has come. Uganda is central in the prophetic destiny of Africa. At one point God used Europe to bring many changes to the world. Renaissance, reformation and industrial revolution all took place in Europe and the result blessed the entire world. We know that a culture linked to the principals found in the teaching of the bible developed in Europe after reformation and laid a foundation for the modern day nations of Europe and North America. Missionaries went out from Europe to the rest of the world taking with them the word of God and education.  After Europe, U.S.A emerged and led the world in many ways. Many missionaries from the U.S.A. penetrated remote places of the world taking with them enlightenment that the word of God and education brings.  Of course, there is the dark side of the story i.e. the slave trade, the looting of resources from Africa and the problems the cold war between US and former Soviet Union caused the people of Africa when these two super powers propped up dictatorial regimes.

Over the last one hundred years, Europe and America began to turn away from the very godly culture that caused them to develop and this has caused their decline to begin. Many African leaders seem not to be seeing that Europe and America is beginning to sink unless they turn round and forsake the godless culture of homosexuality and abortion that they now embrace. This is because no human civilization has survived moral decadence that comes with the opening of the Pandora box of homosexuality. The Greek and Roman civilization could not survive the same. A short while ago, while speaking to African leaders in Addis Ababa, the Prime Minister of India said that Africa is going to be pivotal in the world economy and that India is going to increase its investment in Africa. China’s position on the crucial role Africa will play in world economy is the same.  In the last ten years great volumes of mineral wealth has been discovered all over the continent including oil. Then there is a drive to have the regional trade blocks in Africa merge up to provide huge markets for her products. This will give Africa great economic advantage. What God does is to prosper a people before He uses them for a great task. Africa’s turn to prosper has come because it has a mission.

Again African leaders in different sectors seem not to be seeing that the season for Africa’s rise to greatness has began. Many of them are still extending their begging bowls to western governments. The fifty years of independence should have proved to African leaders that aid can never develop any nation. Africa should realize that the wind of change that God has released across the nations of the world will overturn long time held political and economic concepts. This very wind of change will change many things in Africa and cause it to rise. And that is why I want to appeal to people of Uganda and Africa to wake up and stand for the rights of their children and youths. This is because inspite of the bright future that is a head of the children and the youths of Africa, there is a dark cloud gathering to overshadow the great days that are coming. This is the cloud of homosexual fraternities who have now taken over the control of western governments especially that of US, UK and EU nations.  How did they do this? They used money. For example in the US, homosexuals and abortion clinics mobilize huge amount of funds for candidates of their choice during elections. When the politicians they have aided take office the homosexuals are the de-facto rulers when it comes to decisions that affect their interests. Such a leadership is also compelled to appoint pro-homosexual judges. That is how the leadership, the judiciary and diplomatic services of western nations came under the control of these ruthless people. The whole thing is dirty politics and greed at the cost of human lives. They also ensure that the same kinds of people are seconded to the UN. This has made the UN to become a den of homosexual strategists whose main work is to formulate policies that will enable the vice to be propagated globally. That is why Ban Ki Moon the UN Secretary General ordered the President of Malawi in 2010 to release the two men that the Malawian court had convicted for homosexual practice. In 2010, the US forced Kenya to include in her new constitution a provision that opens space for homosexuality and abortion in exchange for what Joe Biden the US Vice President referred to as “substantial developmental aid”.  Media reports also had it that the US and some EU states also warned that Uganda would lose financial aid if it went ahead and passed the ant-homosexuality bill. In other words with arrogance they have decided to trample down the sovereignty of African nations.

That is why whenever there is a demand for homosexuality; a demand for abortion follows shortly. In U.K there is a bill that was expected to go into force in September 2011 that compels all schools including religious ones to teach children from the elementary level that homosexuality is normal and abortion is alright. This shows you to what extent homosexuals control the U.K government. In fact on 22 June 2011, David Cameron had a meeting with an assorted number of gays, lesbians and other sexual perverts at 10 Downing Street and told them that Britain will use 0.7 percent of her budget given to the poor countries to compel them to open up space for homosexuality. This is cultural imperialism!

In 2009, shortly after taking her oaths, Secretary of States Hilary Clinton told foreign House Committee that sexual and reproductive rights and health were a major goal of the Obama administration. That explained why Obama has appointed a recorded number of Homosexuals in his government more than the combine number of homosexual appointees in the last two U.S governments. That also explains why when America was bleeding economically Obama passed 3bn dollars for facilitating the killing of children and paying the killers in abortion clinics led by Planned Parenthood.

Uganda and Africa must say No to what America and Europe is doing. They have removed age old boundaries that every human civilization has put in place around sex. There is an African proverb that says:  “Don’t tear down a fence until you know why it is put up”.

They have pulled down the fence that confines sexual relationship to the opposite sexes. They now want us to pull down our fence, leave alone strengthening it through the anti-homosexuality bill which is basically for the protection of little children and youth from being recruited into homosexuality.

Recent press report indicated that homosexuals were giving students in one of the public universities in Kampala 800,000 (over $300) per month for recruiting and maintaining them in the vice.  The same recruitments are reported in some junior schools.

I call upon the youths to speak out to their parents and members of parliament to have the anti -homosexuality bill debated and passed. African leaders cannot afford to do what the African chiefs did during the colonization of Africa. The chiefs colluded with the Arabs, European and American slave traders and sold the young men and women of Africa. They did it for guns, beads, clothes and other luxurious things. Now history is threatening to repeat itself. Our children and youths are in danger of being sold away by leaders and the so called “human rights activists” to homosexuals and their backers. This time they want our children for their evil pleasure and the expansion of their evil empire.

Uganda’s politicians should not keep quite. They should speak for our children. Church leaders should not also keep quite. Their voices should be heard on behalf of our children.  If our members of parliament, religious leaders, cultural leaders and parents continue to keep quite as homosexuals hire some of our own people and fund Civil Society Organizations to speak for them, then we shall end up making contributions towards the whole sale of our children to a life style that will abort their future and condition them to the following experiences:

1. Promiscuous lifestyle: homosexuality leads people into a promiscuous life style. They are encouraged to have multiple sexual partners. Some have as many as 100 partners. This opens one up to hosts of infections and spreads AIDS faster.

2. Anal Sex: this damages the organ in the alimentary canal and causes quick transfer of diseases including AIDS – making homosexuals four times more vulnerable to catching AIDS than heterosexuals.

3. Oral anal Sex: The practice of using the mouth on the anus. This is another serious source of infection to homosexuals.

4. Fisting: The practice of inserting the fore arm into the rectum sometimes up to the elbow. This is the most destructive aspect of homosexuality which leads to physical damage to the alimentary canal.

5. Human Waste: This is the sexualization of human waste whereby homosexuals eat human waste during their sexual acts. This leads to hosts of infections in gays.

6. Shortened life Span: Homosexuals loose an average of 20 – 25 years from their life span because of that lifestyle.

7. Mental Breakdown: Research indicates that in the U.S.A, teenage suicide is the seventh biggest killer. And most of these teenagers are homosexuals (both gays and lesbians). Though they were told that homosexuality is normal and harmless, their conscience could not withstand the abuse they subjected their bodies to, thus the prevalence of mental breakdown and suicide among them.

8. “Golden Showers”: This is a homosexual term used to describe the act of splashing one another with urine during their orgies or wild parties under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

9. Sadism: This is the sexualisation of pain and cruelty. Thirty seven percent of homosexuals (both gays and lesbians) are found to practice this kind of act whereby they derive sexual pleasure by inflicting physical pain on the skin and sexual organ of the sexual partner or victim.

10. Drug Use: To try and silence a troubled conscience, homosexuals turn to drug use, which in turn makes them even more reckless sexually and more vulnerable to infectious diseases.

No serious leader, who cares about his/her country, will allow himself or herself to be silent about the need to safeguard the children of Uganda from these filthy, wicked and destructive Life styles. We should not allow our country and therefore Africa to sink at a point when it should be rising.

The New Vision of Friday September 9th Pg 3, reported that Netherland gave nine billion shillings to the Uganda Law Reform Commission.

Last year the US Ambassador in an Article that appeared in The New Vision of 15th 2010 Pg 13 asked the judiciary to protect minority rights. Ugandans should not allow what the homosexuals did in the western world to happen here. We must jealously guard the judiciary, the Ugandan human rights commission and the law reform commission by ensuring that their fundings are not from European government agencies but from the consolidated fund as the constitution says. Otherwise, all those organs will begin to serve the interests of foreign powers and not Uganda.

I want to appeal to our Honorable Members of Parliament to do a honorable thing:  “Please” debate and pass the anti-homosexuality bill for the sake of our children”. Let the donor’s interests not be put above the safety of our children and the aspiration of our people as seen in our motto “For God and My country”. We should not take God for formality like it is now done in the leadership circles in the western world, but take Him seriously knowing that He is still active in human current affairs.

Michael Swift mentioned in the gay manifesto that they are a cult and that their only gods are handsome lads. He also said in the manifesto that they are looking forward to a day they will produce young lads through the labs. No wonder that this February (2011), two Frenchmen wrote to each of the 570 members of the French Assembly asking for a ban (moratorium) on research with human embryo. The war homosexuals are waging is a war against God. That is why they hate God and any church that honors God. Any nation that will side with them will find themselves fighting against God. Such a nation will not stand but will sink. I want to let those who are already trapped in the vice know that there is hope for them through Christ. They can come out. Just get in touch with us or any counselor who has been helping those who are trapped in the vice.

One young man sent a painful text message after a public workshop organized to alert people on the dangers of homosexuality. This is what he wrote:

“Help me come out of this evil and demonic lifestyle. I am tired of it”.

Appeal to Children And Youths:

“Children, and youths be aware of people from your schools, universities, or elsewhere who offer you money and nice things in order to recruit you into homosexuality. Blow the whistles. Call us on our contacts and we shall see how to help you”.

Appeal To The Voters:

“Please remember to call your M.P now. Tell him/her to have the anti-homosexuality bill debated and passed for the sake of our children.

The other day I was praying for God to bless his people in the midst of economic crisis that has rocked the world. Then I heard God speak clearly in my spirit saying: “nothing has changed for you. I am still your supplier”. Then the truth dawn on me:  God is still my source of provision. I have nothing to worry about as far as provision for my family is concerned.  The same thing applies to every believer who has been relying on God for provision. Your job, business, boss, etc… is not your source of provision. Those are merely channels for your provision. God is your source of provision and He chooses which channel he can use to provide for you. Remember that your channels of provision are subject to changes but your source does not change. He mentioned that fact in Malachi 3: 6:

"For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”

What does this mean?  This means that the principles found in God’s word in connection with finances and other resources remains true. This also means that if you regard God as your source of provision then,  you have to handle your finances the way He says. There are main thing you have to do if God is to continually meet your need:

1. 1. Give your tithe. Malachi 3:10 makes the point this point clear: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” A tithe belongs to God. After you have received your income you have to return to God a tithe (10%) of it. It is an act of worship and it is a sign of one’s trust in Gods ability to meet their need. Those who don’t tithe may make different claims as to why they are not tithing but the truth is that they don’t trust God with their finances. God calls it robbery in Malachi 3: 8-9: “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.” Those who don’t tithe are under God’s curse instead of the promised blessings. I always tell Christians that if they have parental responsibility, then they cannot afford to default in tithing. They would have directly contributed to any lack the family or children would suffer. Yet obedience would bring about God’s blessing.
2. Give offerings: while tithe is 10% of one’s income, one has to determine how much he can give to God. While tithing opens doors of the blessings and brings about protection of one’s resources, offerings brings about increase. When you give to the Lord it is likened to sowing. The amount given determines the outcome:

“All I will say is that poor sowing means a poor harvest, and generous sowing means a generous harvest.  Let everyone give as his heart tells him, neither grudgingly nor under compulsion, for God loves the man who gives cheerfully.

God can give you more than you can ever need, so that you may always have sufficient for yourselves and enough left over to give to every good cause.”(1Cor 9: 6-8).

When you are obedient to God in handling resources, you don’t have to worry or live in fear of lack. You have only to trust him because He is able to bless your work and open other channels of provision for you.  He knows all the days ahead of you. So there is nothing that God is not prepared for as far as your life and family is concerned. Ps 37: 18-19 should comfort all who truly rely on God for provision: “The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.   They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied”.

Your inheritance in the Lord cannot be exhausted because the source is infinite. Commit your every concern to him and relax in him knowing that all is well. God bless you.

When I thought of this topic of work, a summary of Ben Carson’s book Think Big came in my mind. Here it goes;

“This book is for you if your life is a series of shattered dreams. This book is for you if you have no dreams at all. It’s for you if you’ve bought the lie that you’ll never amount to anything. That’s not true. Your life is BIG-far bigger than you’ve imagined. Inside these pages lie the keys to recognizing the full potential of your life. You won’t necessarily become a millionaire (though you might), but you will attain a life that is rewarding, significant, and more fruitful than you ever thought possible”. The author of this book knows about hardship. Ben Carson grew up in inner-city Detroit. His mother was illiterate. His father had left the family. His grade-school classmates considered Ben stupid. He struggled with a violent temper. In every respect, Ben’s harsh circumstances seemed only to point to a harsher future and a bad end. But that’s not what happened. By applying the principles in this book, Ben rose from his tough life to one of amazing accomplishments and become internationally renowned. He learned that he had potential, he learned how to unleash it, and he did. You can too. Put the principles in this book in motion. Things won’t change overnight, but they will change. You can transform your life into one you’ll love, bigger than you’ve ever dreamed.

I read Carson’s books because they are inspirational and above all, he is a Christian. But I believe he has read the Bible again and again because the words in the above summary seem to come from the Bible.

I have directly related Carson’s book to work. Many of us feel weary if we are not employed formally and we think that whatever we are doing is not work. We think the office where we spend much of our time doing a lot of everyday tasks in order to support our families is the only work we can do and yet we have the potential to work and bless other people.

In the Genesis 2 we learn that work was part of God’s creative plan - He did not create man to be idle but to work to support himself and his family. God worked hard to create the world and then He set Adam to work in the garden - Genesis 2:15: “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it”

So notice that work was a good and positive part of daily activity before Adam and Eve sinned. God created us to be active and useful and we will therefore be most happy doing what our creator intended. In the New Testament, Paul writes in Thessalonians 3:10-12:

“If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their own work quietly and to earn their own living.”

So Paul commends hard work -and condemns laziness. Christians are called to work hard - whatever that work might be.

Having seen that our God is a worker and we are required to work as Christians, let us look at the value of work- but remember I am not saying work is all about a pay cheque. It is God’s requirement to us such that we may bless others.

Since work was a good and positive activity, we need to do it with commitment.  Many youth today want to come out of school or begin a business on a high note and yet this is impossible in most cases and they become frustrated.

You also have to work to bless others. When you work, it is not only you who benefits but the community and Kingdom of God. The work you do has a multiplier effect and when we work, let us think big. You have the ability to do something whether paid or not paid but someone will feel the impact and God will be glorified.

1. Saved By A Prophetic Prayer

At the close of the function, when our spokesman, who is also a Pastor was told to pray for our journey mercies, he said a very prophetic prayer; “Lord, they will not die today!”This happened. On 24th September, together with fellow church members of Tororo Christian Centre, we were attacked by armed robbers after Bussunjju on our way back from an introduction ceremony in Hoima. Six thugs, who carried pangas and guns, ordered us to stop and come out of the car. Because some were in army uniforms, we stopped. Before we realized, we were all told to lie flat down with our heads on the tarmac and checked us everywhere. They ended up taking all our phones, money and every valuable item. For thirty minutes they were so rough on us. It was a horrifying experience because it was either death or life. However, God remains God in all circumstances.

When one of them ordered me to raise up my hands, and hand over whatever I had with me, I felt peace covering my heart which I cannot describe and I said God, I am happy my relationship with you is well; just receive me now. I wasn’t worried of the torture or the process of death. My only fear was how I was to live my young family!

This thought hit me hard and I began shivering. But, psalm 91:3 for he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague became real to me because I have never heard anywhere thugs ambushing people and letting them go safely. Then the prayer I had Pastor say happened. They told us to drive without lights on until we disappear or else they shoot us. This was purely God’s protection and no one else because we had hit a dead end and no option was left other than to die.

2. Delivered from the power

of Infirmity

Whenever I have a Job and I am working I usually fall sick. Like in the morning when I wake up I feel so lazy in that sometimes I have to call the office and tell them I am coming late because of the sickness I feel in the morning. But at around  the middle of the day I find myself feeling better. So this went on at my previous place of work that caused me problems.  I have not yet finished one month in my current Job but the same happened when I got a Sinus attack. I couldn’t breath well for one week.  I went to Church for the deliverance service when I was suffocating but during the service pastor spoke a word of knowledge and he said: “There’s someone here, whenever you are going to achieve something or going for an interview, or anything important you fall sick.” That was me because when I had no Job I was always Ok but the moment I got a job I begun falling sick and feel like not going to work.  But as we were calling on the Name of Jesus I felt my whole system clearing up. And now I am healed. All glory goes back to God.

4. Our monthly healing, miracles and Deliverance overnight will be held on the 28th October 2011 starting from 9:00pm till 5am.Come with the sick, oppressed and all those who need God’s intervention for God to touch them and their lives will not remain the same.

5. On the 19th.November 2011, our sister in the Church Flavia Namuuga will introduce one of our Church Minister David Lumu to her parents in Nansana in Wakiso District. All friends and well wishers are encouraged to support this divine cause of marriage and God will bless you.

1. Our monthly healing, miracles and Deliverance overnight took place on the 30th September 2011. The overnight was a great blessing as the guest preacher Pastor Chinedu C. Victor of Chapel of Holiness and Testimony Ministries Lagos Nigeria taught a seasonal message entitled: ‘Take it Back’ basing on the book of John 10:17-18 and also accompanied with deliverance prayers that left men and women set free. We give all the glory back to God.

2. VCCM last quarter of the year prayer fast that runs from 16th Oct-24th Nov 2011 .Mode is no eating and drinking throughout the day, break with a light meal and drink only after 6pm. Check website for prayer points.  www.vccmin.org

3. On the 17th of September 2011, Pr. George Oduch accompanied by other VCCM pastors together with some members of the Congregation were invited to attend a parents’ meeting organized by Uganda National Parents Network / Family Life Network (UNPN/FLN) chaired by Mr. Langa Stephen. In this meeting a lot of issues concerning how to protect our Children were discussed in depth. We encourage all parents to be willing to attend such meetings when called upon. God Bless You.

4. On Friday 23rd Sept 2011, Pr. Robinson Okello together with a team of other three (3) ministers from Victory Church of Christ went to Lugazi Community Day & Boarding Primary School to Share the Good News and Love of Jesus Christ as well as to pray for the P.7 Candidates. It was a wonderful moment as we experienced the hand of God touch and deliver the pupils. May the Lord God Bless you for your support and Prayers.
