The Word By Pr George Oduch
WHY JESUS WAS BORN THANKSGIVING AT CHRISTMAS
The other day I was telling the lord “Lord you know what? I trust you. I know you are able to handle for me this issue and also the other one and I went on for a while then I stopped. Then I heard the Lord ask me a question that startled me. “Then what?”I was puzzled for a moment and then I had an impression in my spirit that God was saying to me that “if you believe me for all those things, then give me thanks for receiving them by faith.”I found myself laughing aloud as if I were with someone else. I began to give thanks that truly flowed from my heart. Sure enough I was greatly blessed that day and I was able to be a blessing to many people that very day. Many times we allow ourselves to become tense with our needs to the point where we choke the spirit of thanksgiving, yet a thanks giving is a very big requirement for answered prayers. In mark 11:24, Jesus said that “whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.” What follows receiving is thanksgiving. This Christmas season, remember that in Christ, God has answered all your prayers and met all your needs. Make this Christmas season a thanksgiving time for you, your family and friends. Thank God for sending his son to save you. God bless you.

WHY JESUS WAS BORN

It is very important for one to fully understand why Jesus was born. Every year millions of people celebrate Christmas without clearly understanding why Jesus was born.
You can clearly see this point during Christmas time when their activities are completely incompatible with why Jesus was born. Others celebrate Christmas just as a birthday and they reminisce on baby Jesus, trying somehow to have a feel of that great day 2,011 years ago when the Savior was born.
To understand why Jesus was born, let us try to look closely at what the bible says about his birth in Matthew 2:1-2; “ Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (KJV).
There are three things in this passage which are very crucial. When you miss it, you take away the most significant point that would help you understand why Jesus came into the world. And those points are connected with the identity of Jesus. Take note that the wise men who came looking for Jesus were actually non Jews. Take into account also the fact that they came looking for the baby who was born king. Meaning this baby did not have to be enthroned because he was already a King. Thirdly they had come to worship this baby King.
Now ask yourself, why would God send his son as King who is worshiped? I believe that the failure of many Christians to grasp this has contributed to the weakness and failure of the church in fulfilling her mandate in the world. And who is a King? The dictionary defines a King as a male sovereign ruler whose position is hereditary. A country ruled by a King or a Queen is known as a Kingdom. What kingdom did Jesus come to rule?

PROPHETIC WORD FOR 2012 THE YEAR OF DIVINE GLORY

Readings:
“Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying, who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory? and how do ye see it now? is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing? Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the LORD, and work: for I am with you, saith the LORD of hosts: According to the word that I covenanted with you when ye came out of Egypt, so my spirit remaineth among you: fear ye not. For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.” Hag 2:2-9 (KJV)

Marriage, Family and Singlehood By Pr Robinson Okello
THE BEST OFFER FOR CHRISTMAS TO YOUR FAMILY

Pr. Robinson & Sarah Okello together with their daughter Princess Patience
I believe that as chrismas draws closer, many Christians begin to imagine how they would celebrate it in their homes. Perhaps it will include a service somewhere, family gatherings, a special breakfast, and gifts under the Christmas tree, visits to local entertainment and fan centers and lots of great food prepared for the day.
You probably have other special traditions that are unique to your family and all those things are good and right to enjoy. Christmas should be a time of celebration, joy and family.
However,

THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

Frank Obonyo
Pastor George Oduch advised me to write a Christmas message basing on the theme; the reason why Jesus Christ came. I remembered a story about a Russian boy whose father died in 1918 and left huge debts for his son to pay.
Out of frustration, the boy joined the army and lived in the barracks but the debts were overwhelming. One day, he wrote down a list of all the debts which filled the paper and he even turned the other side of the paper. At the end, he wrote this question; who will pay so much? He woke up and found the Tsar’s signature at the bottom of the paper saying “I will.” A Tsar was the then Russian leader.

Testimonies december 2011

1. Praise God. I went through some bitter, painful and terrible experiences right from the time I got married. From that I had no peace in my marriage because whenever I could conceive a child in my womb, it would just stay for 5-6 month then I would have a miscarriage even without falling sick. I would even pray before sleeping at night and early in the morning when I wake up I just feel back ache from nowhere and the baby comes out. many people laughed at me and some even said that I always aborted others mocked me saying I was unable to bare a child but I thank God who used Pastor James Mafabi of Victory Church of Christ ministries Kapchorwa who prayed for me . The Lord has healed me and blessed me with a child.

2. Praise God brethren, I would like to thank God for the prophetic word “2011, THE YEAR OF GREAT THINGS”, I trusted God for my marriage and I prayed as well as believing on God for something great upon it. God gave me a word in Gen 2:18 that showed me that it was His plan for me not to be alone but to have a helper, so I stood upon that very word and trusted God. As a matter of fact I had no money for introduction ceremony( Traditional marriage done before church wedding) when I began the whole process but I had faith in God and his promise about my marriage.
And here I am to testify to you that on the 3rd.12.2011 we managed to go through with our introduction ceremony, much as it was not that easy. God always remains faithful and He stands to see that his word comes true, indeed He made sure that it came true in my life, the ceremony was so colorful that people wondered a lot about how we made it because we surely lacked nothing because God provided beyond our expectations. That has been one of the greatest achievements for me this year. I also want to thank God for my Pastors who really encouraged me, prayed for me and stood with me till the introduction. May God reward them and all the friends who accompanied me.
